Default AI control

I often play alone with henchies therefore the possibility to control them at least a little bit would be nice.

Order them to stop so that I can go and pull enemies, human players can stay back, why can't I tell the npcs to do the same.

They should engange like the mobs, homing for the monks, even when they are far outside of my aggrocircle.
If I want them to attack my target it should work only when I call the target.
Ever seen the fighters run from mob to mob when you try to apply poison to all of them with a ranger, looks funny but is stupid because no damage is done and the mobs run to the "softer" targets, because the tanks run away.

And afterall a bit of Intelligence for Alesia, when i'm in Melee that stupid healer always stands next to me. She can heal over distance, why doesn't she do it? The only effect is that she is the first one dead and when fighting a bigger groupg she dies approx 2-4 times because she gets ressed by the other npcs really fast. The Mobs monks are not that stupid, they stay back behind their tanks, making it hard to reach them.

so in short:
1. Ability to order them to wait
2. They should engange at will with the same visionary ability like the mobs do
3. They should engange my target when I call it, not just because I attack it.
4. Intelligence for the Healer

sorry if it sounds like a rant but suggestions often arise when something is not to someones liking.

*edit* in mixed parties (Humans/Henchies) only the partyleader should be able to order them around and/or he should have the option to grant another player the ability to control them. Without that feature it is as easy as to have the one who should control the AI form the party.

Yeah, the NPC's are a little stupid. A good and bad thing is that they attack YOUR target always. So even if you call a target they will switch if you do.
Btw, something I sometimes use: Is if you hold in SHIFT while you select another target, you will not automatically attack that target. So the NPC's wont change target. You can then if you have semi-quick fingers quickly shoot one and then go back to the older target without the NPC getting hot pants.

true, especially for new players it is good that all npcs always attack your target.

maybe an option for enhanced AI control. so that you can toggle on or off the enhanced control features.

There's always a good and a bad side to problems like that, I agree.
Try and do quests/missions with unexperienced people who see a red dot and go for it, regardles of what you (maybe as a monk) tell your group about your energy reserve.
4 out of 80? Who cares? Most people think that die trying is more fameful than taking your time.

You'll find that the henchies are quite "intelligent" compared to some people you might've teamed up with already, or will team up in the future.

When i'm fighting iwth henchies, first i pick target and start shooting it. Predictably henchies storm for my target. Then i usually hold dont shift key and click on other target but dont hit space. Henchies still attack my first target and i can "freely" cast spells on other enemies. At least works for me

Maybe henchmen are deliberately limited and dumb to promote teamwork and socialisation?

The one problem I have with henchmen (that I can think of now) is that they get stuck on bridges attacking enemies 100 feet below with MELEE attacks. And ranged attacks can't get there.
